Volkswagen is taking a leading role in electromobility in China

Volkswagen takes the lead in electromobility in China. Dr. Volkswagen's Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized these ambitions at the World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) in Bo'ao, South China. Volkswagen has set itself the goal of increasing the share of electric vehicles in the total number of vehicles delivered annually to 50 percent by 2035. This corresponds to the forecast of the share of electric vehicles in the world market in 2035, which was published in the final congress report. China will thus be crucial to the Volkswagen Group's "decarbonisation" strategy. As of this year, Volkswagen will offer 14 electrified models to Chinese customers. By 2028, more than half of the planned 22 million electric cars are to be produced in China. At the same time, Volkswagen is intensifying its development....
