Volkswagen has developed a new manual gearbox. The MQ281 makes it possible to save up to 5 g CO2 / km, depending on the engine. The new Passat is the first to receive it.

The Volkswagen group has decided to tackle manual transmission to save a few grams of CO 2 . The new six-speed gearbox (MQ281) can reduce emissions by no more than 5 g / km, as Wolfsburg promises. This gearbox works within a torque range of 200 to 340 Nm. He must replace two existing gearboxes and start his career in new Passat, before being integrated into the range of other models in the group. The gearbox is also compatible with large wheels of heavy vehicles.
