ISTANBUL - Hyundai has requested to take full control of its plant in Turkey by purchasing a 30 percent stake now held by Kibar Holding, Turkey's competition authority said.

Hyundai already has a 70 percent stake in the factory.

The competition authority's website says Hyundai has requested to take full control of the plant that makes models like the Hyundai i10 and i20.

The plant has a capacity of 230,000 vehicles per year, most of which are exported to Europe.
